On March 20th, there will be a public conference in Istanbul Mercure Hotel, Altunizade between 10:30 and 16:30. Lecturer of School of Astrology, Hande KAZANOVA will offer the peeces, all speeches will be translated into Turkish simultaneously. The presentations are prepared on a basic level so that everyone who is interested in astrology may follow the content. You are all welcomed if you are interested in astrology either as an amateur or as a professional. This one-day event is free of charge.
The workshops will take place in Istanbul Mercure Hotel, Altunizade between10:30and 16:30 on March 21st, 22nd and 23rd. The workshops are suitable for all levels of astrology students, researchers, astrologers and astrology teachers. The presentations of our foreign guests will be translated by our graduates. You are all welcomed if you are interested in astrology either as an amateur or as a professional. Those workshops are also free of charge.

When we examine our natal charts, we may both see our limitations, the conditions and the situations we may face which express our fated plan and also our destiny which we may realize through our free will and choices. We are given the power to influence some conditions within our fated plan to a certain extent, to avoid certain situations, to lighten some affects and to activate our potentials as seen in our charts and as a result to reach our ideal destiny!
11:45-12:45 Dr. Barış ÖZKIRIŞ What Really Matters is the Reaction
Each soul that desires to excel in its journey of evolution and to reach the divine love finds a physical body for passing the numerous exams of the worldly life. Even if he comes to the Earth for many times as the reincarnation theory proposes or if this is his one and only life on Earth, he is always in interaction with the cosmic plan through his willpower which is gifted him by the Creator. The natal chart, which is based on the moment that he gets his first breath, manifests his basic personality and his tendencies that he is to display and his interaction with the Earth. However, we should never forget that the soul is always superior to the birth chart because when the native reaches awareness about the positive and negative traits of his natal chart and uses his willpower effectively, he may activate the positive potentials that were already promised and even reach transcendence. In short, what really matters is the native’s “attitude” towards the promises of his chart and his “reactions” to their affects.

13:15-14:15 Dr. Glenn PERRY Karma, Fate, and Free Will in Astrology
Astrology illuminates the inner world of psyche, which we experience as free, and the outer world of events that we experience as fate. In this lecture, we will examine how every variable of the birth chart simultaneously symbolizes an internal factor and external condition. The implication is that inner and outer are mirror images of one another; fate is the psyche turned inside out. When karma is conceptualized as feedback set in motion by the psyche’s own internal processes, the false dichotomy of fate versus free will is resolved.

14:30-15:30 Benjamin N. DYKES Determinism and Freewill in Astrology
Many people think it is obvious that we have free will. But where did this idea come from, and are there any reasons not to believe in it? In this talk, I will discuss where the idea of free will came from, why it might not be such a good thing, and why some kind of strong determinism is both responsible and important for astrological work.
15:30-16:30 Deborah HOULDİNG Providence, Prophecy, and the Divinational Role of Judicial Astrology
Astrology has played a role in all world cultures, and for most of its history, a fine line has preserved the legally accepted and theologically approved practice of 'natural astrology' from the harsh consequences attached to the practice of 'judicial astrology' when it "transgresses its limits" and blasphemously claims to know the Will of God. This presentation explores what astrologers have had to say about the philosophical issues at stake, and the stance they have taken towards the thorny issue of fate and free will in traditional predictive practice.

Zodiacal signs can be understood as developmental stages of specific quality and duration. In this workshop, we will examine how houses represent the same 12-stage process, while also revealing the native’s actual experience during particular periods. Planets in houses signal when that planetary process will be most acute, as well as the purpose of challenges that occur at precise phases of development. Each sequential house-stage is like the opening of a petal in the lotus, symbolizing the gradual unfolding of consciousness across the life span.

Horary astrology has a rightful place in every astrologer's practice, being one of the most incisive techniques for offering guidance through problems and crisis. It has greater scope and flexibility than most astrologers realize with the added advantage that its techniques are easy to master once a few core principles are understood. This workshop demonstrates a systematic approach to horary judgment, illustrated by a variety of proven case histories. It will show horary technique to be a necessary tool for every modern astrologer, simple enough to be of immediate practical value, whilst powerful enough to change the lives of people who are trapped in cycles of despair.
This lecture is suitable for all levels of experience.

Subject : Fundamentals of Delineation, the Victor of the Chart
This workshop will introduce participants to key ideas in traditional chart interpretation, and prepare them for reading a chart from start to finish. First, we will look at basic rules for interpreting houses and planets, focusing on how a planet’s location connects two houses together. Second, we will study the four main dignities and counter-dignities: rulership by house, exaltation, detriment, and fall. Third, we will practice with a very important concept, “aversion”: when two planets or a planet and sign do not aspect each other, especially when a planet does not aspect its own sign. This will lead to important insights when reading charts. Fourth, we will look at some basic annual predictive techniques: profections, transits, and (if there is time) the solar return chart. Finally, we will learn about and practice several medieval and Renaissance methods of finding the ruling planet in the chart, sometimes called its “victor.” Participants will redraw their charts in Whole Sign and practice on their own charts to see how these techniques work in their own lives.

Deborah Houlding
Deborah Houlding, author of “The Houses: Temples of the Sky”, has 25 years of experience in researching the symbolic basis of astrology. Instrumental in restoring traditional techniques to modern practice, she was editor of the Traditional Astrologer Magazine, founder of Ascella Publications, and now runs the astrology website www.skyscript.co.uk. Deborah specializes in horary and electional astrology and is Principal of the STA School of Traditional Horary Astrology. In 2010, she received the AA's Charles Harvey Award for "exceptional service to astrology."

Dr. Benjamin N. Dykes
Dr. Benjamin Dykes is a leading medieval astrologer and translator, who gained his PhD in philosophy from the University of Illinois. He received his medieval astrology qualification from Robert Zoller, and taught philosophy at universities in Illinois and Minnesota. He translated and published Bonatti’s Book of Astronomy, the Works of Sahl & Masha’allah, and Persian Nativities I-III. He will release further volumes of essential traditional astrology translations of horary works. He offers the Logos & Light Lectures, philosophy courses on MP3.

Dr. Glenn Perry
Glenn Perry is an astrologer and licensed psychotherapist in Connecticut, USA. He received his doctorate in psychology from Saybrook Institute. In addition to private practice, Dr. Perry is director of the Academy of AstroPsychology, an online school that offers courses and training in psychological astrology. Glenn has written eight books, including An Introduction to Astro Psychology, and serves as a Board member and qualitative research advisor for ISAR. He lectures internationally on the application of astrology to counseling and psychotherapy.
Öner Döşer
Öner DÖŞER is one of the leading astrologers in the country who has many followers in the social and national media. He is the first astrologer who organized online-live-interactive training program and the founder of Astrology School Publishing and Astrology TV, where he published 14 books, 2 of them in English, and his videos are watched more than 22 million people. Some of his articles are published in The Astrological Journal, the magazine which belongs to The Astrology Association of Great Britain. He is also the organizator of the International Astrology Days in Istanbul including dean foreign astrologers since two years, where the third event will be held in March 2014.
Dr. Barış Özkırış
He was born in Istanbul on January 25, 1975 at 13:57. After graduating from Deutsche Auslandsschule, he completed his B.Sc. in Department of Civil Engineering in Istanbul University in 1998. After getting his master degree from Department of Business Administration in Doğuş University in 2003, he completed his PhD in Gebze Institute of Technology and became an expert on Brand Management. He also completed the Beginner and Intermediate Astrology Trainings in Astroart Astrology School in 2010 and was awarded the first prize. He also attended “Astro-Psychology” courses which were held in The School of Astro-Psychology in USA which was founded by Glenn Perry. In 2012, he had his master’s degree in Maltepe University, Psychology Department. He also got a creative writing certificate from Mario Levi. He is also teaching astrology in Astrology School and giving astrology consultancy in his office.
